We offer one of the best kids' birthday parties around! Birthday parties at the Chestnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Company are unique and one-of-a-kind experience that your family and child will never forget.

In March or April, we hide over 3,000 Easter eggs for kids under 12 to find. They can enjoy crafts, take photos with the Easter Bunny, and win prizes.

During the heat of summer, what better way to cool off than a Firehouse Snowball? The famous Chestnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Company Snowball opens for business around Memorial Day and operates from 4 to 9 p.m. daily and usually longer hours on weekends. All proceeds go to support the Fire Company.

During Fire Prevention Week in October, we invite our community into the firehouse to see our facilities and equipment and to enjoy great food, fire engine rides, information stations, and lots more.

At Halloween, our volunteers and other members of our community decorate their vehicles and give out candy and treats to kids in costume. We have kids' costume contests, awards, trick-or-treating, spooky crafts, and more!

Get your pumpkins for Halloween decoration and jack-o'-lantern carving at our annual Pumpkin Sale! We have a wide variety of beautiful pumpkins ranging from small to large. The sale runs on the honor system, so just pick out your pumpkins and place your payment (cash or check only) in the fireman's boot in the tent.

We organize and staff the Green Valley Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning. This annual fun run benefits charities that help kids hospitalized with cancer and other serious illnesses.

Beginning after Thanksgiving, we set up our Christmas Tree sale lot. We will deliver your tree to your home for free if you live in our first due area. All donations are tax deductible and 100% of the proceeds go towards keeping your fire station running 24 hours a day. Don’t wait too long to get yours – our high-quality trees sell out quickly!

In December, Santa Claus makes a stop at the station to have breakfast with kids and their families.

Just before Christmas, Santa comes to Chestnut Ridge neighborhoods on one of our fire engines! We will do our best to visit your area, but our FIRST PRIORITY is responding to Emergency Incidents. If we have to cancel because of rain/snow or emergency calls, we will have make-up days.

Several times a year, we host an American Red Cross blood drive.

Throughout the year, we offer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) classes to the community.

Every now and then, we set up our huge movie screen and show a family-friendly movie for free! Everyone is invited to come and enjoy a great film and food for movie-watching. Held outside, or inside our engine bay if the weather doesn't cooperate.
