We are a 100 percent Volunteer Fire Company and are mostly supported with your donations. While there are "paid" Fire Houses in Baltimore County, Chestnut Ridge Fire Fighters and Emergency Medical Personnel do not get paid a cent. Unlike other Volunteer organization's a Volunteer Fire Companies administrative officers do not earn a salary of any type.

A fire engine can cost as much as $500,000 and the gear/scba each of our over 30 active members wears can cost more than $6,000 per person. As you can imagine, it adds up very quickly.
